The "CERCIS" Advantage
The CERCIS tube is manufactured by the TH Solar Company who is one of the largest solar tube manufacturers in the world for many decades. The CERCIS tube is a technologically advanced collector that uses a proprietary process for sputtering an aluminum, nitrogen, and nickel selective coating to 360° of the inner tube surface. The selective coating allows the use of interference effect which results in the CERCIS’s ability to surpass other tube’s energy collection performance in the global marketplace. Constructed of high strength borosilicate glass, the collector “quasi tracks” the sun’s path throughout the day providing superior performance over flat plate collectors on a yearly basis. A seamlessly sealed vacuum is maintained between the inner and outer tube which gives the ability to significantly collect more energy during cloudy conditions and especially during the cold Canadian winter months because of the evacuated tube’s extremely low heat loss characteristics. The addition of a full length diffuse flat plate reflector further enhances the energy collection performance by up to an additional 5%. The benefits of evacuated tube technology make them superior to flat plate collectors in Canadian climates and are the most effective solution for solar heating applications.
